8 hours or overnite in preheated oven
6 eight ounce servings
42 ounces whole organic milk
one container of yogurt containing live cultures. To start, purchase unsweetened yogurt containing live cultures. (once you have made your own after starting with live cultures, you can use one 8 ounce container of your yogurt.)
Heat the milk to boiling until it has a skim on the top. Immediately turn the flame off and let the milk cool. When milk has cooled, scoop out 6-8 ounces and mix with the yogurt with live cultures. Stir thoroughly. Then add back into the cooled milk.
Pour into glass containers. Sit in preheated oven (heat to 125 or the lowest setting on your oven. turn off. do this before you put the yogurt in to the oven.)
Put in oven and leave for at least 8 hours or overnite. You will be surprised at how much heat the oven will maintain! Do not open the oven door. The yogurt should be set after 8 hours. Place in refrigerator. Enjoy!
Serve with fruit, nuts, seeds, honey.
Use as a mayonnaise substitute for cole slaw or egg salad or other dishes calling for mayonnaise.
